About
Anyone visiting Berlin is likely interested to see the remnants of either the Second World War or the partition, while both can be found throughout the city; only this location is historically important for both.
The memorial stretches across a full street on two levels. At street level there is the Berlin Wall, untouched and undecorated, which sets it apart from most other pieces found in the city. Below that are the foundations of the former SS headquarters, a place where many people met their end at the hands of Hitler's secret police.
The covered foundations are lined with photos and stories which tell the gruesome tales of what was done in Nazi Germany, and how people outside of the camps were treated.
