About
With a population of fewer than 500 people, a large Amish presence, and beautiful natural scenery, Reedsville, Pennsylvania is a picture-perfect rural town. Adding to this charm is a true hidden gem for antique lovers everywhere: Big Valley Antique Center. A two-story, 45,000 square foot vintage shopping center, the establishment is home to more than 225 vendors and over 100 showcases. Shoppers who want to see everything the store has to offer can easily spend an entire afternoon here.
If the wide variety of wares isn’t enough to draw you in, the cozy, cabin-like interior certainly will. The warm, wooden walls and high ceilings make the shops feel open and inviting. And don’t worry about getting lost in the expanse of the offerings—the aisles between vendor booths are well spaced and easy to navigate.
Big Valley Antique Center’s goods range from fully functional antique cookware to unique decorations and statement pieces for your home. The store offers antiques for every kind of collector, including items that are more than 100 years old; mid-century modern items; handmade, functional items from bygone times; sports memorabilia; jewelry; vinyl records; model trains; vintage boardgames; and much more. The store is also close to The Pennsylvania State University, so naturally you’ll find lots of Penn State merch from every generation of alumni.
Know Before You Go
The store is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for major holidays. Prices are sensible, and vendors accept card, cash, and in-state checks.
The store also has a huge parking lot that can support campers, buses, and trailers, so travelers are encouraged to park for a spell and take a look around the store. If you’re traveling with a pet, you’re welcome to bring them into the store with you—as long as they can gracefully navigate century-old antiques. The lot is easily accessible off the Route 322 Milroy Exit.
