About
Tucked into Tallahassee’s Railroad Square Art District is the only remaining movie rental store in the area: Cap City Video Lounge. Founded by Kevin Cole in 2016, the shop houses an extensive collection of DVDs, Blu-rays, and even VHS tapes, many of them rare or obscure titles you won’t stumble across on a streaming platform.
Beyond rentals and sales, the Lounge is also a gathering space. A small in-house theater regularly hosts cult film screenings, live comedy, and local premieres, keeping the communal spirit of moviegoing alive. The Lounge has become less a shop than a shrine—a community living room where movie lovers gather to celebrate the enduring magic of physical media.
From digging up your favorite forgotten film to catching an indie showcase, Cap City Video Lounge has earned its reputation as a haven for cinephiles.
