About
Built in the late Middle Ages as a Roman Catholic church, dedicated to St. Werenfridus, this church was put into use as a Protestant church in 1648. In 1977, disaster struck; a lightning strike with a large fire as a result destroyed the church. Though locals did their best to put out the fire and save the church, the damage was too severe.
It's never been restored. Instead, it was decided to preserve the ruin and everything that is still left. You can still smell the fire in the wooden beams!
Now it's a quiet, little spot where peace and rest can be found. Bring your picnic basket and enjoy the raw history it offers.
