About

Nestled in the rolling hills of Huntington, West Virginia, lies Heritage Farm Museum & Village, a replica Appalachian town that seeks to whisk you away to a time before 21st-century technology.

First opened in 1996, the Farm has grown exponentially. Visitors can tour an operational blacksmith shop, with a smithy working historical forges, and walk through a frontier store packed to the rafters with delightful memorabilia.

Museum exhibits explain technological advancements in the 19th century that aided local communities. The main exhibits delve into local transportation (from carriages to the Model T Ford), technology, industry and life at home throughout the 1800s.

The Farm also features high ropes courses and a zip line, as well as well-maintained bike trails across the museum's stunning, 500-acre property. Additionally, there are multiple areas to visit with and learn about Appalachian animals.
