About
Rising above the Delaware River in the Delaware Water Gap, Castle Inn stands as a relic of an era when the waterfront offered a rare respite from the oppressive summer heat. Back then guests traveled far and wide to marvel at the inn’s unique concrete construction, swatch of electric lights, and running spring water in every room.
The Castle Inn has a musical pedigree: Tenor Enrico Caruso and composer John Philip Sousa performed here. As an extension of this cultural grandeur, the inn served as a social and artistic hub until 1952, when Fred Waring, leader of the Big Band, acquired the property.
Today, the inn, which Therea Veltri and Frank Paccione have renovated, hosts a vibrant collection of specialty shops, including a day spa, a Victorian-style ice cream parlor, and The Hall, a stunning event venue. Natural light shines through intricately paned windows and its not hard to imagine why the Castle Inn still draws a crowd to this historical property.
