About

This quiet street of a Wellington suburb might be a mail carrier’s nightmare, but it’s a wonderland for those who believe in magic or love a little mystery.

A section of the street is dotted with dozens of whimsical mailboxes that often feature surprise trinkets, toys, or other small tokens that add a magical element to an otherwise mundane street. These letterboxes are decorated with different themes, kitschy items, and unique doors. Each letterbox has its own personality and mystery. Visitors are encouraged to open the letterboxes and explore. The collection of cute boxes and mysterious items is known as Letterbox Village. The items aren’t intended for removal, but many have added their own items over time.

Letterbox Village is accessible from the sidewalk with plenty of street parking. There is no cost to visit and open the letterboxes to see what’s inside.
