About

Tucked into the “Are you sure we’re not lost?” countryside north of Gainesville sits Lubee Bat Conservancy, a small but world-renowned organization dedicated to saving bats and their habitats. If you thought the bat houses by the university were cool, wait until you meet the giant fruit bats that call Lubee home. Gainesville may be known for its gators, but Lubee’s upside-down celebrities inspire plenty of “Wait, they’re HOW big?” moments, quickly followed by “They’re so damn cute!”

If you didn’t love bats before your visit, you’ll leave appreciating them and possibly a little smitten. Lubee is not responsible for the number of photos you take or how many times you say “Awwwww!” 🥰🦇
