The Manly Quarantine Station was used as a quarantine station for immigrants and travelers coming by boat from 1828 to 1972. Advances in medicine and travel over the years reduced and eventually eliminated the use of the site. There were a lot of deaths here and ghost tours are regularly run. There are heaps of ghost stories and myths about interesting people connected with the site.
