The National Route 66 Museum is a fascinating stop along historic Route 66. Inside the museum, you’ll find stories of the people who lived, worked, and traveled the “Mother Road.” Visitors can walk through scenes with pieces from all the states the highway crossed through, highlighted by realistic murals and vignettes depicting the eras of the road and the places that made Route 66 so famous.

You can see historic cars and relics from gas stations, roadside motels, and diners. Visitors can listen to recorded histories and personal accounts of the road from overhead audio kiosks.

The entrance to the museum features a large Route 66 road sign that catches visitors’ attention. The museum entrance also features Myrtle, a large kachina doll almost two stories tall.
