There’s an alley in the historic district of Pueblo, near the Riverwalk and museums, behind a bakery and restaurants, that can catch you off guard if you’re out for an evening stroll. Joe Koncilja, an avid neon sign collector, with help from nearby neon sign restorers, has created a display of more than 40 pieces of retro, luminous art.
The collection continues to slowly grow and Koncilja has said he hopes to amass more than 100 signs someday. For now, wandering through the alley at night feels like stepping into an immersive other world.
