Established to honor Norwegian magicians and their trade, the Norwegian Museum of Magic’s real trick is fitting a lifetime’s worth of artifacts into one tiny apartment.

The Norsk Tryllemuseum as the museum is known in its native Danish began in 1997 when a number of concerned magicians began collecting items relating to stage magic from their native Norway lest their contributions to the art of stage illusions be lost. Collecting clippings, posters, and photographs, the local group amassed a virtual history of their trade. Beginning in 2001, the Nordic illusionists moved their collection to its own space in an apartment and added an assortment of props and costumes. Today the magic museum is open on Sundays when visitors can come and see the weekly magic show in the small apartment.
