Somerset, Kentucky has long been considered a nexus of the unusual, the unexplained, and the otherworldly.  The mysterious phenomena that pervades this lakeside community in the foothills of Appalachia has been detailed in books, television, and film. Now Zach Bales, a teacher and paranormal investigator, has established Paranormal Roadtripper’s Nightmare Gallery in Somerset, Kentucky to highlight many of these legends.

Bales has traveled the country collecting haunted objects like dolls, chandeliers, and whiskey bottles, along with movie memorabilia, Bigfoot imprints, and more. He built the museum in his own backyard. Their collection includes haunted objects, screen-used props and prop replicas from horror films, and exhibits related to Bigfoot, ghost hunting, Jack the Ripper, UFOs, and other unusual phenomena from Kentucky’s Bluegrass Triangle.

The Nightmare Gallery also has a one-of-a-kind gift shop, featuring curiosities from the canyonlands of Arizona to the swamplands of Louisiana, from the moors of England and Scotland to the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, Turkey, many of which can’t be found anywhere else.
