About
Perched above the sea in Flinders-Chase National Park, on Kangaroo Island is the suitably-named Remarkable Rocks.
This stunning work of nature was carved out by over half a billion years of wind, rain and sea spray.
The golden orange lichen covering some of the rocks offers visitors wonderful photo opportunities at different times of the day.
When you see it for yourself, it feels impossible that nature could create such shapes out of these giant boulders, and leave them perched on the cliff's edge above the sea. It truly feels like an ancient monolith left to mark the edge of the world.
If you're lucky, you may even see wandering emus or kangaroos coming to check it out for themselves.
