About
Tap into a sweet slice of history and throw back a cold one in Cambridge Springs at Riverside Brewery. Opened by 2019, in a refurbished 19th-century barn along French Creek, the brewery is an outgrowth of Howles Maple Farm, a four-generation, family-run maple syrup producer in Crawford County.
The well-rounded beer menu features crisp, hoppy, sour, malty, and dark options, many with the Howles heritage brewed right in. Both the Sugar Moon Maple Amber and the Maple Porter are brewed with Howles maple syrup. Other on-tap offerings include a hefeweizen, a strawberry lager, New England and American-style IPAs, and porters, which you can sample in flights or order by the pint. Seasonal cocktails, like a spiced maple Paloma in fall, are available.
The brewery also offers a robust maple-infused food menu. Appetizers, like the caramelized brussels sprouts, are topped with peppered bacon and Howles’s maple horseradish glaze, and the Bavarian-style pretzel comes with Howles’s spicy maple mustard for dipping. Heartier options, like the Cowboy burger, come topped with Howles-brand sweet-and-smoky barbecue sauce. Pizzas, salads, and steaks are also available. For a sweet finale, add barrel-aged maple to your ice cream sundae.
Bingo, live music, and other events are held on site, notably a popular outdoor summer music series.
