A touching tribute to Ruth Ann Miller, a young child who fell into an abandoned mine shaft while playing with her brother in 1966.
Despite an extensive and dangerous rescue effort over several days, sadly they were unable to locate the young girl and the shaft became her final resting place. The incident raised awareness of the dangers surrounding unsealed mineshafts throughout the region once known as Copper Country. The shaft is now a loving shrine to Miller and maintained by surviving family members. When her mother passed away in the 1980s, she too was interred at this location.
