About

Elvis Presley performed the very first show at what was then known as the International Hotel in July 1969. It was his first performance in eight years. What was supposed to be a 4-week engagement lasted for seven years. Elvis sold out more than 600 shows at the hotel and performed his last show at the venue in December of 1976. It was his last Las Vegas performance before his death.

The hotel and casino are now known as the Westgate. A massive bronze statue of Elvis was erected about a year after his death inside the hotel to honor the legendary musician. The hotel has also hosted several Elvis related exhibits and conventions over the years. In 2016, the Westgate was successful in having the street in front of the resort renamed Elvis Presley Boulevard.

The statue has been moved around the property over the years, but it's currently on display prominently in the lobby. There are also a couple of posters and large lithographs in the lobby featuring Elvis.
