About

“We have a hallway in our apartment we would like to convert into the Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding 1994 museum.”

The THNK1994 museum began as a Kickstarter project to get the $75 needed for “the enlargement of historical documents (Tonya and Nancy pix).” Comedians Matt Harkins and Viviana Olen ended up with just over $2,000, and the 25-foot long hallway in their Brooklyn apartment housed Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding artifacts, original works of art, and video installations for two years.

According to the duo, visitors and artists from all over the world came to see their efforts. In 2017 they moved to a gallery on Atlantic Avenue. Everything from their hallway now comprises their permanent collection, and past exhibitions include "The Olsen Twins Hiding From the Paparazzi," featuring Art by Laura Collins, and the group exhibit "Nicole Richie’s 2007 Memorial Day Barbecue."

Harkins and Olen hope guests leave with new knowledge and some good pictures for Instagram. The site’s membership page sums up their contributions to the art world quite succinctly: “The THNK1994 Museum may be small, but it also may be the most important museum ever created."
