About
The Troll Museum in Tromsø is a must-visit to get acquainted with the fascinating history of Norwegian fairytales, folklore and legends. In addition to interactive exhibits and models, the museum sports augmented reality technology to capture free and downloadable photos of visitors with the trolls.
The museum's modest space features numerous sections including large-scale figures, a library, a games room and a small area for gifts and souvenirs. There are audio and print versions of the museum guide available for an in-depth exploration of the legends that have shaped Norway for generations.
Allow at least an hour to see everything, but visitors might enjoy staying longer to play games and take photos. You can immerse yourself in the traditional board games, sculpt a troll-scape using sand and a video projection, and use the provided tablets to email photos of yourself and friends with a variety of trolls.
Adult tickets start at 200 NOK, with a discounted price for seniors, students and children.
The museum's guides and information are available in Norwegian and English, but there are also a number of other languages supported by an international team.
