Joined Atlas Obscura in 2026

I’m a systems engineer, researcher, and explorer fascinated by the intersection of technology, nature, and the unknown. My work sits at the boundary between space systems, robotics, remote sensing, and human curiosity — building tools that help us understand places and environments that are difficult, dangerous, or impossible to reach. With a background spanning evolutionary anthropology, geographic information science, and systems engineering, I’m interested in how humans explore the world — from ancient landscapes and forgotten histories to deep oceans, extreme environments, and the frontier of space. I’ve worked on spacecraft, autonomous systems, and emerging technologies that expand our ability to observe, map, and interact with the planet and beyond. Outside of engineering, I’m drawn to the hidden stories embedded in landscapes: abandoned places, archaeological mysteries, unusual ecosystems, forgotten infrastructure, and the ways people adapt to challenging environments. I believe every place has a story — whether it is a centuries-old ruin, a remote island, a hidden natural wonder, or a cutting-edge laboratory. I’m currently exploring how robotics, artificial intelligence, and scientific discovery can help preserve history, protect critical infrastructure, and open new frontiers of exploration. Always looking for the next strange place, unexpected connection, or overlooked story.
