Do you like water, bourbon, or historic places with a story to tell? This hidden gem in western Kentucky might be right up your alley.

Tucked along the Mississippi River in Columbus, Kentucky, The Ingram Distillery does something you don’t see every day: ages whiskey inside floating barrelhouses right on the river. Visitors can tour these unique structures and see firsthand how the Mississippi plays a role in the whiskey’s maturation.

The distillery’s O.H. Ingram River Aged Series and the Uncharted Series experience the movement of the river, its changing temperatures, and humidity fluctuations throughout the aging process. It’s a modern twist on history, reviving the Mississippi River’s long-standing connection to American whiskey.
The adventure continues on the distillery property at Iron Banks Lodge, a historic riverfront building that serves as the distillery’s private tasting room. Built in 1930 by Francis Marion Rust to direct relief efforts following the Great Mississippi River Flood of 1927, the lodge later operated as a secluded bed-and-breakfast. Today, guests can enjoy a private whiskey tasting while taking in views of one of America’s most iconic waterways.

Located across from Columbus-Belmont State Park, The Ingram Distillery brings together unusual whiskey-making, local history, and beautiful river views in one off-the-beaten-path destination.
Come for the bourbon, stay for the river, and discover what happens when whiskey and the Mississippi share a home.
