Slightly off the beaten path of Sedona’s busy areas lies this park. Established in 2004, the park is a favorite of those seeking to tap into their spirituality, or who wish to have a quiet place to reflect in a beautiful setting. People of all faiths are welcome. The park offers a 36-foot stupa (Amitabha, the site’s namesake) and a smaller stupa where visitors can pray, meditate, or just enjoy a sense of peace.

A stupa is considered a living presence of Buddha, and as such, many people bring a small offering to place at the foot of the stupa. There are few stupas in the United States and this is the only one located in Arizona

Park highlights include many areas adorned with prayer flags, wooden boards where visitors can sit and meditate, benches, a medicine wheel, and a stunning wooden statue of Buddha overlooking the Amitabha Stupa. The park has no paved trails, but it is an easy walk/hike throughout for people of all ages. Admission is free, however, donations are accepted.

The park is located at the base of Thunder Mountain and overlooks Sedona proper, offering a beautiful and largely unobstructed view of several of Sedona’s stunning red rock mountains.
