About

Australia is home to more than just a couple of big things. The Big Apple is only one of a loosely related set of about 150 sculptures and large structures sprinkled across the country. Most of these, the Big Apple included, serve as the country's top tourist traps, and can be found along major roads and highways or between major travel destinations.

The now closed Tennessee Orchard, which is the site of this big apple—Australia has more than one—was only open on Fridays and weekends, but had been a popular tourist destination, selling Imperial Gala, Granny Smith, Pink Lady, Sundowner, and four other varieties of apples, depending on season. They also sold apple juice, vegetables, jams, chutneys, marmalades, and free range eggs.

Know Before You Go

According to Google and other online sources, Tennessee Orchard is now permanently closed, possibly partly due to major hailstorms in both 2016 and 2017.
