About

For decades, the Indiana Association of Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches (IATCCC) has honored the accomplishments of Indiana athletes through its annual hall of fame nominations and recognition. Until recently, though, there was a not a physical location to review the honorees.

The Indiana Track & Field & Cross Country Hall of Fame Museum houses photos of each hall of fame inductee, as well as a kiosk to look at the accomplishments for the athletes and videos of many of the performances.

In addition to the hall of fame acknowledgments, the museum also covers the history of track and field, not just in Indiana, but the sport's progression over time. Visitors can see and touch the various types of poles used for the pole vault, including one that has a sharp spike on the end like a javelin. Also included are examples of the different types of pits used for the pole vault and high jump, from sand pits to bags of hair (yep, bags of hair) to airbags to engineered foam rubber.

For fans of Olympic competitions, there is a special section of memorabilia and medals for Indiana's 46 Olympians.
