About

With its limestone turrets, stained glass, and porte-cochère, Joslyn Castle feels more like it belongs on the Scottish highlands than the Nebraskan plains.

George and Sarah Joslyn, Omaha's first millionaires, finished the home in 1903. Originally, it overlooked a vast stretch of prairie west of Omaha. As the city expanded, the rural castle became a buried gem in the heart of the city.

After George and Sarah both passed, the castle was given to the public, never to be lived in again. The artistic details inside, which draw from art nouveau, art deco, and gothic architecture, have been preserved and restored throughout the decades.
