Even people who have grown up in the Portland metro area are often surprised to learn that there is a botanical garden in this outer southeast Portland neighborhood, and it’s been open to the public for 40 years.

There are magical trails, meadows for picnics, summer events like nature fairs, educational tours, and more. Often the first time someone finds this place is when they attend a wedding here. It may be known as a hidden gem, but it aspires to be a garden for all.

Know Before You Go

Depending on the season the garden's hours change. Best to look at the website before heading over, to be sure they are open. Admission is $5 for adults.

(JUNE 2024 note: The pedestrian bridge to about half of the gardens was washed out during the winter, so that side is currently inaccessible. Assume it'll probably be replaced fairly soon...)
