Old No. 8 Schoolhouse

Located between Chicago and New York City, this rest station offers an unusual overnight stay.

Guests are able to spend their time in either a replica 1865 Schoolhouse or the "Bridge House" next door. Next to these structures is a chapel open to the public that is deeply embedded in nature as it's covered in vines.

Another unique feature of the church is that it contains notes from past visitors, as well as relics, antiques, and memorabilia pertaining to the owner's Christian faith. The man who built the church wrote a book about its construction, detailing the use of recycled material from an old barn that was torn down by the town, much to the chagrin of the townsfolk. 

Finally, there is a nature trail that runs through the property known as the Neshannock Trail. It's open to the public and leads to several other whimsical structures that speak clearly to the character and personality of the man who arranged them.
