Patrick Amiot's Sonoma County Yard Art
Monumental sculptures of Patrick Amiot, constructed from debris, detritus, and determination.
Patrick Amiot is a prolific metal and ceramic sculptor who executes monumental yard art in the wine country of California. His work appears throughout Sonoma County, becoming more and more frequent the nearer you draw to his neighborhood in Sebastopol. Amiot’s sculptures represent animals, his neighbors, and entire huge dioramas constructed from discarded car parts, water heaters, tea kettles, and bathtubs.
Typically Amiot’s works are portraits, depicting the personalities and vocations of the people who agree to have their yards and tops of their homes or businesses adorned with his art. Many of the works are electrified, and are especially striking at night.
