Driving through the Adirondacks, one expects to see breathtaking views of mountains, lakes, and forests. What might not be expected is the giant Angry-Birds-esque face of a pig. A few miles north of Speculator, New York is the large visage of a painted porker on an outcropping of rock. Legend says this dates back to the 1960s when it was painted by the daughters of a local man. Decades later, citizens protested and saved this landmark when the Department of Transportation wanted to remove it to widen the road. All in all, this is some pig.

Know Before You Go
It is easiest to see this while driving north (it will be on the right side of the road). There is nowhere to officially park and gaze at this masterpiece, but you can pull onto the shoulder.
