About
At the far end of the Aarhus harbor, a giant pair of sunglasses faces the water. Created by Swiss artist Marc Moser, Sea Pink measures about 16 feet wide and 5 feet high, and its rosy lenses bathe the waterfront in a surprisingly warm glow.
Installed in 2011 amid the ongoing transformation of the former port area into a district of canals, glass towers, and seaside walkways, the sculpture’s pop-art humor stands out against the district’s new architecture and offers a different kind of visual note.
Just like with Your Rainbow Panorama, the city center's famous rooftop walkway, there’s a quiet shift in atmosphere when you look through Sea Pink’s tinted lenses. The bay picks up a subtle blush, a soft reflection that gently illuminates even the dullest skies.
Know Before You Go
Sea Pink is accessible to the public 24 hours a day, free of charge.
The sculpture stands a little over a 30-minute walk from Aarhus Central Station. If you prefer public transit, the nearest tram stops are Østbanetorvet (Line 1) and Nørreport (Line 2).
For visitors arriving by car, several parking garages are located nearby in the waterfront district.
