About

Tucked away on a quiet side street in Fort Worth Texas lies an incredible 200-foot, brightly colored mural. Upon closer inspection, the mural incorporates various mediums to convey the artwork to a group of people that often are unable to partake in art appreciation, the visually impaired.

The mural resides on the side of Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth, whose mission is to empower individuals who are blind and visually impaired to live their highest level of independence.

Auditory devices (usually found at crosswalks) provide audio descriptions, railings include Braille, high-contrast colors, a miniature 3-D model of the entire mural to allow individuals to take in the whole wall at once, and a website accessible by QR code that provides detailed descriptions.
