I'm Vincent Ledvina — most people know me as "The Aurora Guy." I'm a photographer and aurora chaser in Fairbanks, Alaska, where I spend as many nights as I can out under the lights, chasing substorms with a camera. I'm also a Space Physics Ph.D. student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, studying why the aurora does what it does—the sudden brightening at substorm onset and the properties of auroral beads that ripple along an arc before it erupts into color.
On top of my studies, I also run an aurora tour company in Fairbanks and host an annual aurora chasing workshop every March. My goal is to have as many people as possible experience the beauty of the northern lights in Alaska, and I am always available to help intrepid travelers plan their next aurora adventure in Fairbanks.
