Jace Porter

Joined Atlas Obscura in 2026

I’m the founder of the Global Entomology Coalition (GEC), and I’m passionate about changing the way people see and engage with insects and, by extension, how we approach environmental conservation. Insects play a critical role in maintaining the health of our ecosystems, and through the GEC, I’m working to bring them to the forefront of environmental research and public awareness. My ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between science and the public engagement, inviting people from all walks of life to join the conversation around biodiversity and conservation and get their hands dirty. Whether through adventure travel, scientific research, or education, I’m always looking for new ways to get people involved in protecting our planet.
