I'm an independent naturalist/writer calling the Intermountain West home, though my heart's anywhere there are roadless drainages, standing dead trees, unruly beasts, big storms, etc. My particular passions are landscape ecology, wilderness, earth science, and the intersections of time and geography.
"Remoteness" tantalizes me (whether it's a farflung canyon or the dead-center of a briar thicket in an industrial zone). Every place is haunted, of course.
