Joined Atlas Obscura in 2026

Born in West Germany during the peak of the Cold War, this international castaway began to explore the world. Moved to Brooklyn NY in the early 80s and London in the early 90s. Joined the US Army and relocated to El Paso, TX. Deployed to Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Then discharged to New Jersey. Was hit by a need for adventure which first took me to Philadelphia and then all the way North to Alaska. After years of working in the oil fields, returned to the lower 48 by moving to Seattle where I currently reside.
