Kate Rayne

Joined Atlas Obscura in 2022

What do a muskox farm in Alaska, a 21-foot-tall space cowboy in Oklahoma, and a shrine made of crystals in Iowa have in common? With a teal backpack, my camera, and a 2004 Toyota Avalon, I spent 10 years traveling to all 50 states in search of what unites the United States. Atlas Obscura has been my guide every step of the way.
