Katie Losey believes that if you move the heart, the head will follow—that wonder, curiosity, and connection are often the catalysts for stewardship. As Head of Partnerships & Conservation at Natural World Safaris, she builds partnerships that connect people with the world's remaining wild places, cultures, and wildlife through thoughtfully designed immersive travel that helps create lasting value for the landscapes, species, and communities working to protect them.
For more than two decades, Katie has worked at the intersection of conservation, storytelling, and business, championing the idea that thoughtfully designed tourism can protect wildlife, ecosystems, cultures, and local livelihoods while rewilding something within ourselves.
Her own perspective has been shaped by experiences from locking eyes with mountain gorillas in Rwanda and witnessing the Monarch butterfly migration in Mexico to helping map floating reefs on a 2014 Explorers Club Flag Expedition to Cuba.
Katie has been a member of The Explorers Club since 2015 and serves on its Public Lectures Committee. She is also a licensed New York wildlife rehabilitator and has written for the Biomimicry Institute since 2019. Her science writing has been featured by the University of Cambridge, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Richmond, her alma mater. @_katielosey
