In November 2025 I finally completed a life long dream of making it to Antarctica. This had been a trip that was very long in the making. Working with a travel guide i got a fantastic rate that required me to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina where I got to explore for a couple of days.

From there, we took a chartered flight to the very tip of Argentina, Ushuaia. Once we landed we took a day trip to the Tierra del Fuego National Park which features the southernmost post office in South America, Postal del Fin del Mundo. Although closed, it’s still a cool site to see.

Later that day, we boarded a cruise ship and made our 2 day trek to the 7th continent, Antarctica. The world famous “Drakes Passage” was not as rough as usual, but it still took its toll on a number of boat guests.

We ended up arriving half a day early in Antarctica and so we had a surprise drive-by of Deception Island. An abandoned whaling station from the 1960’s which has been frozen in time, quite literally. After this stop, we headed south along the peninsula, and here’s where the life changing moments started to take place.

Day two of being in the Antarctica waters let us get off the boat and set foot on this land that fewer than 1% of the population gets to visit. I never thought I would tear up by just setting foot on land, but here I did. The natural wonder and beauty, the thousands of penguins roaming about, the dry chill air. I, was ON Antarctica.

Over the next few days we made about a dozen stops. Seeing penguins, seals and whales. Kayaking around ice bergs and having a huge whale dive right under neath where you were paddling through the water. Breathtaking views, and unreal feelings. Even when on the boat, just opening your balcony curtain to seeing an iceberg float by with penguins hanging out or diving into the water. Absolutely a sight I can’t wait to see again.

It’s not a cheap trip by any means, but I encourage everyone to save up and take a trip of a lifetime.
