Broke Girl Summer

No resorts. Cheap rentals. Just me, my sidekick, a water bottle, and questionable life choices.

This summer I'm outside. Sort of. With rising costs, some of my favorite vacation destinations would stretch me thin so I decided to explore the area around me a little more deeply. So this summer if I can get there in the car and be home for dinner it's for me. I'm looking for unusual history, secluded swimming holes, and scenic views. Some of the places I plan on visiting this summer are old favorites and some new discoveries like:

  • Philbrook

  • Black Jack Cemetery and the grave of Sarah Rector

  • Blue Whale of Catoosa

  • At least 3 Historically Black Towns

  • Fantastic Caverns (are they really fantastic? I have no idea)

  • Sunflower Mountain

  • Whatever strikes my fancy while I'm driving by.

I'm going to explore this little tri-state area and get to know my surroundings better, and not go broke and suffer heat stroke while doing it.

Your turn.
