About

Spanning 550 feet in length, the Harbor Drive Pedestrian Bridge is one of the longest self-anchored pedestrian bridges in the world. This futuristic Tomorrowland-looking bridge adds beautifully to San Diego's uniqueness, and is a must walk-across if you ever find yourself in the downtown area.

Built in March of 2011, this bridge was designed to stand 131 feet (40 m) above six lanes of traffic in order to accommodate pedestrian traffic moving from the Convention Center and Hilton Bayfront Hotel across to the East Village and Gaslamp Quarter, including the famous Petco Park baseball stadium.  Enjoy practicing your camera angles on this stunning 60 degree angled bridge.

Know Before You Go

This is a popular photo op spot, and is as beautiful at night as it is during the day, offering spectacular views of downtown and the Bayfront. It is accessible by stairs and elevators, and since parking is tricky in the downtown area, it may just be easier to walk to if you are already somewhat close in distance. Otherwise, the parking lot attached to the western side of the bridge will charge you $11 after the first 15 minutes of being parked there (so make it quick!).
