About
Completed in 1981, the striking Hill Road Flyover was designed to alleviate traffic congestion in the Shek Tong Tsui neighborhood by providing a bypass from the hillside directly down to the harbour. The flyover is, at parts, 5 or 6 storeys above Hill Road below, traveling 650 meters from its start on Pok Fu Lam Road, snaking down to Connaught Road West.
Despite being relatively brief, the journey by vehicle down the flyover can be exhilarating, slaloming between buildings while at eye level with apartment units on either side. The view from underneath the elevated road is also remarkable, as the flyover's curved shape breaks up the monotony of the straight lines of the surrounding urban environment.

HKU MTR station exit B2 comes out onto Hill Road beneath the flyover. For those wanting to walk down from the top, head to exit C1, then walk past the bus stop and continue east along Pok Fu Lam Road to reach the flyover and the staircase down to Hill Road.
The following bus routes: 4X, 30X, 37X, 90B and 970X, all travel down the flyover. For the best view, sit on the front seats upstairs.
