About

Not far from Mugdock Castle within Mugdock Country Park are the remains of an anti-aircraft gun battery. The battery was one of several built during World War II. After the Clydebank Blitz in 1942, these facilities were put in place to protect Glasgow and the Clyde basin. There are four gun placements, a control building and another bricked up structure which may have been an accommodation block.

The ruins are easily accessible from the main path running through the park. You can wander in and around the walls and some parts of the structures but mind your head in some areas! It makes for an interesting little area to explore and offers some great views across Glasgow.
