Swampy may serve as an office for a simple roadside zoo, but his construction is anything but simple. Located in the census-designated place of Christmas, Florida, too small to be a town, Swampy shares his home with the post office many children send their letters to Santa, and a park commemorating the Seminole wars of Florida.
It is unexpected to be driving down a rural, jungle-backdropped state road, and suddenly happen upon the world’s largest alligator-shaped building. But there he exists, sitting unchallenged for decades.
