Legends in the Faroe Islands

A woman facing death for bearing a child out of wedlock lifted this massive stone as her legacy.

This statue commemorates the tale of the fisherman who captured a Kópakonan by stealing her skin while she was transformed as a woman.

Legend says this rock spire is the finger of a witch who wanted to throw the Faroe Islands towards Iceland.

In Faroese legend, this sinister horse-shaped beast lures unsuspecting passersby only to drown them in the lake.
