I write about exploration, natural history and conservation in Portugal. I co-lead the DinoDawn Expedition with paleontologist Ricardo Araújo, searching the Algarve’s Late Triassic red beds for the earliest relatives of mammals. I also support The Pangea Trust’s elephant sanctuary in the Alentejo. Life Member and former Director of The Explorers Club, advisory trustee of the Academy of Science of St. Louis.
