Joined Atlas Obscura in 2017

Semi Retired Geographer travelling scuba diver fascinated with the obscure and less trodden path. I have dived 26 countries including entering the earth via an active erupting subsea volcanic vent (dont try that at home kids!), been bitten by a cannibal, dived through an 8.6 earthquake, explored long forgotten ghost and toxic towns from Western Australia to submerged villages. I have an insatiable thirst for adventure and exploration beyond the usual. So much more to see I am planning on establishing a small niche tour agency for specialty tours. I also write. play Saxophone, and collect instruments and fossils on my travels.
