Andrew Smith – Artisan and Historical Arts Specialist at AlgizRune Art and LostRavn Fashion www.algizrune.com | www.lostravn.com At AlgizRune Art, we specialize in creating handmade, historically inspired Norse Pagan artworks, as well as Celtic, Anglo-Saxon, and Slavic jewelry and fashion. Our pieces are rooted in authentic traditions, drawing on centuries of craftsmanship and symbolism from across early European cultures. Algizrune Art is famous globally for recreating the complete set of Lewis Chessmen in moose antlers. Inspired by original Viking Age artifacts, we use natural materials such as bone, wood, bronze, and silver—just as the Vikings did—to craft items with meaningful zoomorphic and mythological motifs. Our goal is not just to reproduce history, but to preserve and revive it. What makes Norse art especially compelling is its deep historical foundation. Some of its symbolic roots—like serpents connected with the Mother Goddess—can be traced back as far as the 6th to 5th millennium BC, to early farming communities of prehistoric Europe. These ancient beliefs continued to influence the artistic language of the Norse world. We are passionate researchers and artisans involved in experimental archaeology—recreating historical methods to better understand and preserve ancient techniques. This hands-on approach helps us produce not only accurate replicas of archaeological finds, but also new, inspired designs that speak to today’s audience while respecting the legacy of the past. In addition to our research and craftsmanship, our shops in the UK, EU, and Canada serve as a prime destination for handmade historical gifts. Each item is designed to bring history into everyday life—whether it’s worn, displayed, or given as a meaningful present. Through our work, we aim to honor the legacy of the Vikings and other early cultures by keeping their spirit alive in both tradition and innovation. #uniquehistoricalgifts #vikingart #celticgifts #anglo-saxonhandmadegift #vikingfashion #lostravnfashion
