I'm an award-winning science writer and travel guide, exploring the world to bring you the most intriguing stories about the spectacular science that surrounds us. After getting my PhD in Earth Science, I spent nearly three years as a contributing assistant editor at Smithsonian digital news and then almost five years at National Geographic as a staff writer. I'm now working as a freelancer for a variety of outlets and travel companies, telling stories about our wondrous world and beyond.
