If you're looking for something unique to do in Raleigh, don't miss Dix Park. Think of it as Raleigh's answer to Central Park—a sprawling urban park filled with walking trails, public art, historic buildings, and wide-open green spaces. There are even shady groves with hammocks where you can stretch out and enjoy a good book.
The real hidden gems, though, are the Thomas Dambo Trolls. Surprisingly, they rarely make the typical "Things to Do in Raleigh" lists, which is exactly why I wanted to share them here on AO. Scattered throughout the park, these whimsical giants stand over 12 feet tall and are built entirely from reclaimed wood. Created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo, these incredible sculptures are part of a worldwide collection that can be found in parks and forests across the globe.
Whether you're exploring the trails, hunting for trolls, or simply enjoying a relaxing afternoon outdoors, Dix Park is well worth a visit -and the trolls are a can't miss.
