Eiffel Tower Park

The first city founded in west Tennessee was named after Paris, France in honor of the general Marquis de Lafayette. As several other locations have this namesake, a scale replica of the famous European tower was also introduced to Paris.

In 1993, students from Christian Brothers University built a 60-foot tall, wooden tower. It was so popular that a permanent metal structure was installed to replace it a few years later. The new tower was 70 feet tall and set off a little rivalry between Paris, Texas about whose tower was the largest. 

Eiffel Tower Park provides tennis courts, a public Olympic-sized swimming pool, soccer fields, two walking trails, two children's playgrounds with pavilions, a splash pad with its own Eiffel Tower, and a frisbee golf course.
